Verse for Your Struggle

Name what you are carrying. We will bring a word from Scripture that meets you exactly there.

๐Ÿ˜ค Anger

โ€œIn your anger do not sin: Do not let the sun go down while you are still angry.โ€

Ephesians 4:26

Notice this doesn't say don't be angry. Anger itself isn't the sin. What matters is what you do with it.

โ€œRefrain from anger and turn from wrath; do not fret - it leads only to evil.โ€

Psalm 37:8

The warning here is about letting anger fester. Fret is the key word - it means to spiral inward.

โ€œMy dear brothers and sisters, take note of this: Everyone should be quick to listen, slow to speak and slow to become angry.โ€

James 1:19

The antidote to anger James prescribes is listening. Many of our angers come from feeling unheard.

โ€œBetter a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.โ€

Proverbs 16:32

Scripture holds emotional restraint in higher esteem than physical strength.

โ€œA gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.โ€

Proverbs 15:1

Practical and profound. The person who responds gently de-escalates - and that takes courage.
