Strong words. Pride doesn't just miss out on grace - it actively positions us against God.

“Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves.”

Philippians 2:3

Paul wrote this to people in conflict. Humility isn't low self-esteem; it's choosing others.

“Pride goes before destruction, a haughty spirit before a fall.”

Proverbs 16:18

One of the most well-known proverbs - and one of the most consistently proven true in human experience.

“For all those who exalt themselves will be humbled, and those who humble themselves will be exalted.”

Luke 14:11

Jesus said this twice in Luke. The kingdom inverts the world's value system.

“What do you have that you did not receive? And if you did receive it, why do you boast as though you did not?”
